I quickened my footsteps. I decided to take a risky peek at the sky and I found myself gaping. Dark and dismal clouds were gathering; sunrays were reluctantly succumbing to them. To me, it looked as it they were planning to start a water fight soon; and the thought of getting drenched in my uniform was not a pleasant one; so I hopped onto my school bus and prayed that it would hold until I got home at least!
The moment I entered the portal of my home, I knew I heard the pelting down of raindrops after holding for such a long while. I couldn't help but stand at the doorway and welcome the rain. I stood at a comfortable spot where I was able to enjoy
the rain and at the same time keep myself dry. Soon, the familiar smell of rain
entered and lingered in my nose as I inhaled it slowly. The sound of raindrops was
soft and gentle at first but as the seconds raced by it became louder and more
audible. It drowned all the thoughts and worries in my head. And, somehow, now the
sound of raindrops was music to my ears. Perhaps because I was now warm and smug in my own home away from the fears of getting drenched!
Neighbours came running out of their houses to bring in their laundry but it was a futile attempt as they were all drenched by now; dogs were barking furiously and the birds were busy taking shelter in trees. Some cheeky ones perched on roofs to play in the rain. The grass was grinned as they took their long awaited shower and quenching its thirst in delight; the trees danced so gracefully in the rain that I had to resist joining. Instead, I stood still; with my mouth wide open in amazement, allowing the breathtaking sight to blow me away. It’s amazing how creative God can be, I secretly wondered at God's creation.

A sudden gentle breeze blew and a few raindrops started reaching to my body; some were even tickling my bare feet. I took one last look, capturing
everything with my two small eyes, and headed inside.
