When I got attacked

Well, not literally.

The Viral Gastroenteritis Intestinal virus randomly attacked me on Saturday. My immune system came tumbling down like Humpty Dumpty who sat on that brick wall. It has been my most painful 5 days experience of my life. During the span of my recovery, I made a couple of new best friends, really, and I think should be nicer to them once in a while. They are my soap, my toilet bowl, my toilet roll, my toilet seat, my toilet flush...basically, everything that is in the toilet is my best friend. Who said you could only have one best friend aye? hah.

This is embarrassing, but I had to even use my baby potty again just because I can't make it in time to the toilet to let all the stinky stuff out. It's amazing how I could still fit the hole. I was vomiting and peeing poop through my butt countless of times after every hour. I even got so tired of washing my own butt. I thought all this will stop after a while (because I thought I was strong and I could go through all this, but I was so wrong) but it didn't. So after two days, my mother took me to a doctor. But that doctor didn't managed to help me either. I went home still very sick. The next day, which is Tuesday, which is also yesterday, my grandparents heard about me and the drove over. *touched* However, their presence scared me. Not physically but verbally because they went on and on about how serious my sickness could be. That I must be admitted to the hospital (for drips. Because I haven been eating. Everything that enters my mouth comes out instantly through my butt or my mouth again). That I have to drink porridge water (that's the worst part for I never took a liking for porridge). My mother saw me freaked out a little so she came in and decided to take me to see another clinic which in long story short saved my life.

Turns out it wasn't food poisoning (which the whole world thought it was), but a viral attack (the long complex scientific name I used above^). He gave some medicines and it helped a whole lot. But I couldn't escape the drinking of porridge water curse. So I had to. Right now, after 5 days, I'm feeling a whole lot better and I'm sitting here telling you what happened to me.

It's funny how God revealed a little bit of himself to me. In my weakest time, he spoke to me. I've realized how prideful and ignorant I have been. How I have been building invisible barriers around me, protecting myself from the world(when I know I'm suppose to get out of my comfort zone and make friends and be the influencer). How bitter I have been. How I've been shortening devo time. How selfish I've been. How I've changed in a way I didn't want myself to. I hated myself for it but I am thankful that He made me realized that so I have another chance to be a better person to fulfill whatever He has in store for me. Today, with the readers as my witness, I oath to see things the way God see things. If I accomplish that, I believe life would look and feel and taste a whole lot better.

Not only that. There were couple of times where I played some Christian songs to soothe my tummy ache and it worked. The words from the songs came so alive me that it scares me to only realize that the words were there only at that time.

"Our God is healer" - Our God; Chris Tomlin

"Let now the weak say I have strength by the spirit of God" - Saviour King; Hillsong

"Jesus, beautiful Saviour" - Beautiful Saviour; Planetshakers

"My Jesus, My Saviour" - Shout to the Lord (my all time favourite Children Church's song)

All these pulled me through all the pain and suffering I was going through. It was also through these songs that I've realized how blessed I am to be here although I'm sick. How blessed am I to have perfectly fine working body limbs. How blessed I am to have a roof above my head without working. How blessed I am to have a God who doesn't count my sins. How blessed I am to have parents who love me and would do anything for me. How blessed I am to have a brother that will scold me whenever I have wrong table manners. How blessed I have to have people to call friends. For all these, I thank you Lord, with all my heart. Sometimes I think God has blessed me too much till I reckon that He should start blessing other people.

"You're rich in love and You're slow to anger.
You're name is great and You're heart is kind.
For all Your goodness I will keep on singing
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find"
-
1000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) ; Matt Redman

"Higher than the mountains that I face.
Stronger than the power of the grave.
Constant through the trial and the change.
One thing remains,

Your love never fails, never gives up, never runs out me."

One thing remains; Jesus Culture.

Don't be as dumb as me. Don't wait for the moment when you're so sick to realize how great, how wonderful, how amazing, how awesome God is. Please, don't. I would not want you to miss out.

He loves you, He will always be there by your side and He's waiting for you.

I'm still in one piece, if you were wondering. :)

Guarding one's heart

"Guard your heart more than any treasure, for it is the source of all life"
~ Proverbs 4:23

'Guarding your heart is not a matter of avoiding the pains in life. It's a matter of keeping your heart tender before God no matter what the circumstances. An unprotected heart becomes callused with each collision with pain. A callused heart becomes hard. A hard heart is too broken for relationship with God or with people. Therefore, guard your heart "for it is the source of all life".' :)

Somehow, it feels like  a new season - a season of love. Everywhere I go, I see them - love birds holding hands; couples sharing a drink -. This is the season where they claim that they are madly in love with each other. The exchange of sweet and mushy text messages that ends with 'I love you'; the way they look into each other's eyes; the way they whisper into each other's ears....

Seeing them make me wonder what it'll be like to be in a relationship and what does it takes to make a relationship last. But, what is love? Well, I guess there's no definite definition for love. This four-letter word is too hard to be explained but, easier to demonstrate or expressed through actions.

I reckon that the greatest love that has been expressed in human history is the love of Jesus. He sacrificed himself for everyone - every single human being on earth. He was destined to be hung on the cross, but before He was hung on the cross, He had to carry His own cross and He - the Almighty God - was beaten so badly. He didn't have to do this. He didn't have to care. But He did. He did all of that out of love. And therefore; my definition of Love is God and God is Love.

How can a relationship last with the absence of God, when God is love? How can we love when we don't have God? We love because He first loved us. A love that is so genuine; a love that can only be found in Him. And I pray real hard that God will continue to fill me with His love so I can love the world through His love.

Relationships are super-duper-uber complicating therefore, I'm letting God take control! Woohoo! :)

Until my season of love comes, I will wait.

Eve of Chinese New Year Eve

So beautiful! :) Whenever I see lanterns floating in the sky in pictures like these, they always remind me of Flynn and Rapunzel from Tangled. :') P.S. I heard there's a sequel to the show! Can't wait to catch the movie in the cinema!

And I find myself waking up on the 21st of January, the third week of the year 2012. Thank God for another day of life! But take a look at the calendar, its the 21st already! The 21st day of the year! And again I find myself saying 'Time is passing so fast!'. Not cool. My dad told me that during his childhood, he never find himself saying that terrifying sentence. And it freaked him out when he's seeing so many people saying it now. I shall challenge myself to not say that terrifying sentence that often anymore. *Every Day is a Gift from God. I shall seize that daily gift! I shall walk my talk.

Oh look, it's eve of Chinese New Year eve! :D I can start making new resolutions again! That's one advantage of Chinese New Years. kekeke. Spent my night with my cousins, niece and nephew. I'm an aunt already! :D And my nieces and nephews are super adorable! As a matter of fact, they are really good in Maths. When we were playing Monopoly, I got them to do the dice calculation for me and they rocked at it! :D Can't wait to see them again tomorrow. They make me smileee. :)

There you go! A lil' update for ya! ;)
Happy Eve of Chinese New Year Eve!

Getting down and dirty!

Hello Beautiful! ;)
Isn't that a super cute picture? I don't really like cats, but I have to admit that the two cats in the picture is super adorable! I just had to share it. (: Anyhoos, I had a 1.5km 'marathon' this morning. It's not just any 1.5km 'marathon' it's a national 1.5km 'marathon'. All public/government schools have this 'marathon' and it's a must for everyone to participate. The attendance was great. Many students showed up; super supportive aye? Ohoh, this marathon is also known as the 1M 1S, in Malaysia. (:

All schools were asked to start this marathon at 7.45 sharp, and that's what my school did. By 7.45pm, Form 1 and Form 2 girls started jogging. (I had a headstart!) haha. It was so funny to see almost 60-70 girls running together in a group. Plus, this was my very first marathon in my life! I was so excited! (: My mommy said that it takes 15-20minutes to complete 1.5km. I was quite relieve for I jog for at least 15 minutes in every Netball training. But a little voice in me still doubted myself.

It was not easy to complete that 1.5km. It was the longest 1.5km ever. I jogged with a couple of friends and we encouraged each other. Well, it was tough to jog with girls that sighed and stopped in the journey. I don't know how to explain it, but yeah. It'll somehow make you want to stop too. But I told myself that I will never stop and I didn't! Thank God! (: haha. My friends and I managed to complete the journey! *woot woot. It was definitely a great experience! Pheww.

After the marathon, I had a nice shower and had a delicious lunch at a restaurant near Atria. When I finished the yummy lunch, I flew to Miss Esther Ooi's house. She planned to bake a cake for birthday girl, Debbie Chew. And I, a girl that has no oven in her house, wanted to bake so badly, so I decided to help Esther to bake. Miss Joy Chong was suppose to come, but she couldn't for some personal reason. haha. But that didn't stop the both of us from baking!

We baked in her kitchen and obeyed Aunty's orders. We measured the right amount of sugar, flour etc, and put them into the mixer. Looking at the mixer mixing everything was the best part! The mixer mixed everything so beautifully. haha. And we put it into the oven to bake. I shall cut the long story short, the cake turned out great and it taste yummy! (: We even took pictures with the cake. haha.

After all our hard work, we spent the remaining time catching up on each other's life. We told each other many things and I enjoyed that lovely time with her and only left her house at 7pm. We talked for a long time. We definitely talked about many things. (: I love you girl! (: Hope to have more times like this together in the future! (: P.S. This girl has grown so much already! (:

Love you truck loads,

'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.' -1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Hello, hello! (:
First of all, NEW blog title! (: Cherry on top! (: A very random sentence that popped into my mind. Secondly, NEW blog theme! Powered by Blogger (: *heart!
Cherish the moments and hold on to them dearly...
Celebrated my birthday on Wednesday ( 23 February ). I'm officially fourteen! Fourteen years ago, I was brought into this world. Modern technology made me very happy. I received many birthday wishes through emails, SMS and Facebook. I was so touched by all my birthday wishes. Thank you all! (:

During the first night of Gadget Camp, I received a huge envelope and a big cookie. Well, that huge envelope turned out to be a birthday card from the one and only Ann Xing Lai. (: Didn't have time to read the card in camp, so I read it when I got home. It was a very long letter. I laughed and blushed (yes, blushed) my way through reading the card. Ann, thank you so very much for the Birthday card! *iloveit! And yes, I do remember that time when we were dancing in the rain in Advancement camp. Good times, good times. It didn't rain in Gadget camp, if not we could dance in the rain again :)

Didn't get wet on my birthday, but I got wet a day after my birthday. Somehow it is a tradision for birthday boys/girls to get wet during their birthdays. I managed to escape for not getting wet on my birthday for I had PE class for last period. (: But I got wet the next day. I was drenched, in school, for the first time.

Celebrated my birthday with family. My mommy got me a Baskin Robin Ice-cream cake. It's my first time having an Ice-cream Birthday cake. *nomm nomm* Yummy yummy cake! (: The only person that was missing was my dear brother. Man, I miss him. He is coming back soon! (: I can't wait to see and spend time with him. I do hope that we could go to Sunway Lagoon and have a jolly good time :)

I have to say, I had the best birthday ever. (:
