A smile that made my day

This is Adelyne. She's my baby cousin; my cutest baby cousin! :)

She was at the backseat when my grandpa picked me up from school. It has been a horribly long time since I've last seen this cheeky lil' girl. My grandparents were extremely free to take care of Adelyne so my baby sitting wasn't needed that often anymore. Consequently, she gave me a strange and sullen look when I entered the car.

It took awhile for her to remember me. And when she did, I sensed her shyness. Grandpa told me that she was old and smart enough to recognize and call people, but she refused to acknowledge me as cheh-cheh. It was heartbreaking. No, it was worse than that. I could tell that she knows me, but she just refused to call me. However, that didn't stop me from tickling her for the entire car ride.

I remember the times when we would snatch Mr. Santa. I remember the times when we used to play 'find me if you can' together. She was so adorable. Well, she still is. In fact she's such a lovely 18 months old baby! I guess she's entering her hyper season. She couldn't stop playing with things like chairs and pillows when she was in my house. She kept moving. She was everywhere! It was pretty challenging to capture that shot of her. She was either running away from the camera or she fidgeted when I counted three. But, I got this shot when she was on the sofa and I was extremely proud of myself when she smiled so willingly. Little did she know that, that smile of hers made my day.

She is much taller now but she's still as skinny as ever. It's great to know that she's finally eating and drinking milk now. Hope she'll gain more weight! She's too light for a 18 months old baby. Nevertheless, she has grown so much! It's good to know that I'm not the only one that's growing.

Towards the end of her visit, she murmured cheh-cheh to me. And that was enough to make my smile bigger.

Adelyne's visit managed to keep my mind from thinking about trials. But as I'm typing this, my heart rate is picking up by the seconds. Trials is next Tuesday and I don't know what to expect. Teachers won't give tips and even if they do, all they'll say is "read everything" or "read your textbook" or "do more topical exercises!".

Many say that trials is the back-up results if anything happens to my PMR results. Hmmm, that makes trials sound pretty important right? Many also say otherwise. Many say trials is not as important as it may sound. Many say it's an exam to make us study. Well, either way, I'm taking trials as a challenge although it's going to be tough and I'm not fully prepared.

If you're reading this, do keep me and all the other 15-year-olds in your prayers! (:
