Starbucks Going Green!

This is a very random post :)

Hello!
Yesterday during English tuition, the class was each given a newspaper and we had to cut an article out and talk about it. I got the StarTwo section, everything in it was so happen to be about going green. I saw an article titled 'A special brew'. I was attracted to it instantly. I started reading it, and I thought it was kind of cool. It's about Starbucks Setia Alam going green to save the environment.

Okay, so I'm sure everyone knows Starbucks or probably even tasted their coffee. They have comfy chairs for us. They even have wi-5. :) And the coolest part is that they're going green! :)

The Starbucks Setia Alam is the first branch to have a drive-through system in the Klang Valley. Besides that, they make full use of natural lighting by incorporating large windows into the design of store. The artificial lights inside consists of low-energy LED light bulbs.

A rainwater harvesting pool was built just outside the store that collects rainwater which is filtered and used for landscape and in lavatories. The store uses high reflection paint to improve heat insulation. Hydro-chilled carbon gas is used for air-conditioning.

The thing that blew my mind away was the dried coffee grounds that are used for gardening. I saw it once, when I was doing an experiment in Rangers. It smells exactly like coffee but it's for gardening not for drinking. So fantastic! :)

Moreover, they are giving RM2 discount for costumers that bring their own tumblers to take away their drinks. So remember to bring your own tumbler when you plan to take away anything from Starbucks! :) Not only it will reduce the usage of plastic and paper cups, it will save the environment! :)

Do your part to save Mother Earth. You, yes you, can make a difference! :D

God Bless!
